Ancient Rome was a classical time. It was the birthplace of many of the things that we still do today. In truth ancient Roman jewelry is some of the most beautiful jewelry in all of history. There were inevitable trends in their pieces from both Etruscan and Hellenistic jewelry, but that is not all that the pieces embody. Additionally, this is one of the first times in history that jewelry was adorned with many colored stones. Precious gems like rubies, sapphires, and emeralds were very favorite in the time. You may have also found less Precious details like topaz or pearls added to inevitable jewelry.

This first started at the starting of the Roman empire, but during the Augustan age the glass jewelry trend was seen everywhere. Prior to the Augustan age jewelry buyers were very conservative in their buying tastes, but as the years went by as the Empire strove for peace their creativity also flourished.

Today practically every woman has a pair of hoop earrings in her jewelry arsenal.

The society in ancient Rome industrialized many things that are still used today, and their jewelry is no exception. Roman jewelry from ancient times set some trends that have lasted straight through the years, and woman of today can take some ideas from the ancient Rome to integrate into their own wardrobe.
